Political Action
The Political Action Forum is open to all whether members or not whose purpose is to encourage everyone to vote in all elections for candidates who support Labor through education, information, activism, volunteering, and fundraising.
For those without personal wealth or political authority a trade union card and a ballot paper are the only two routes to political power.
TONY BENN, Arguments for Democracy
One of the best ways to ensure workers’ rights is to ensure labor-friendly candidates are elected to office. There is a reason why, “United we stand, divided we fall” has become something of a battle cry, because when we come together our voices become greater than the sum of their parts. We encourage everyone to register to vote if they have not and learn about candidates so they can make an educated decision when they get to the voting booth.
Our movement is of the working people, for the working people, by the working people. . . . There is not a right too long denied to which we do not aspire in order to achieve; there is not a wrong too long endured that we are not determined to abolish.
